During the 1970s-1980s, a number of well known toy & game companies went out of business. Some of the companies (or individual toy properties) were purchased by Hasbro or Mattel. Many were acquired by Jay Horowitz and his company, American Classic Toys. Jay is a third generation “toy man”, well known in the industry, and Jay had the right connections to scoop up the remaining trademarks, brands and assets that the big two toy companies passed on.

Most of these deals involved Jay acquiring the company name, trademarks, intellectual properties, assets and toy molds. From Aurora to Ideal, Marx Toys to MPC, Jay acquired the rights to hundreds of the toys and games we all grew up with. Some properties have been sold off, and some have sat dormant alongside his massive collection of toy molds.

Today, Jay is partnered with CSN Press to represent his entire legacy catalog of toy and game brands from the last 50 years. If there is a great old toy from your childhood that you’d like to re-issue, give us a shout. If you’d like to use one of our brand names to create a new collectible, we’d love to hear about it.
